Thanks for all your work. I remember when you started this service with the new Camaro (even though mine got held up and I never got it). What a wild ride its been huh?

Forgive my ignorance, but I still hav'nt been able to find out where the extended cab 1500 Chevy trucks are being built at. I'm at 3400 now and trying to figure out when to send my current truck in for detailing and when to close on selling it. Its going to be shipped to St Clair county in Michigan. Whats a reasonable "round number" for it getting to the dealer after its built?

Thanks again for all your work and efforts. Too bad all the GM salespersons don't know as much as you do about production and shipping of new vehicles. It would give them a much better image if they knew answers to such questions from customers.

Oh I thought for sure you would ask me a hard one...just to test me or something..roflmao

Fort Wayne IN. Here is a great article on a great truck!

Of course you know that there is no real exact number to put on how quick it will get home from the time its finally off the line but I would guess 14 days is a good number to use. I am thinking that yours will move up their via truck so hopefully we will be able to see Cassens or AAG take control of it and that will help pinpoint it.

Good luck and welcome back...Its evolved a bit from the Camaro5 forum posts to Camarotracking to where we are today tracking all 4 brands. But we still enjoy every minute of it and love to share in the joys of delivery as much as we always did.

You must mean this...

To Our West BC Dealers, We are experiencing a national railcar shortage caused by two main factors. Over the past month, many parts of the US and Canada have been impacted by extreme winter weather, which has disrupted much of the network, causing delays on both loaded and empty railcars. Our major eastern railroad is currently under force majeure due to flooding in the Midwest. In the meantime, all manufacturers have ramped up volumes, putting even more stress on the rail and truck capacity. As a result, we are experiencing extreme delays delivering vehicles to our dealer. We will continue to make sold ordered vehicles a priority and work to get these vehicles moving as supply allows. Thank you for your understanding and we will continue to provide updates when available. Thank you! WBC

Yep, I didn't verify anything, just saw that over on the gmconnects.com forum ...
The flooding in Ohio is really messing with everything right now for sure. Another slow moving system moving thru now so hopefully by the weekend things will start drying out.

Only the Vettes offer a customer pick up from the factory so no luck there. Larry

Mother nature has no pity.

Hey, when I click on my VIN over at gmconnects.com, I just get a page not found error, is there a new url to pull up a sticker with a VIN? I hunted around and couldn't find one.

The window sticker shows up about 4800 hours after it has shipped and is available until delivered.

Is it a GMC or a Chevrolet? Sometimes we use the chevrolet site because not all the gmc online stickers ever show up. Larry

The site said there is some repairs being made or something like that, is that why I have been stuck showing 3400 status for over 8 days. For some reason I thought they built a whole car start to finish in a day or two ????

Just fixing some things, please be patient thanks!

No the site is working fine. We just have up the "pardon our dust" warning as we are making some minor changes and from time to time a few things might look odd. But the data is good.

Problems were caused by a fire at the Magna plant which supplies door panels and other interior trim pieces.

Production was actually halted for a short period then it was resumed but slowed while they determined the damage and at this point is back on line.

Thanks for info, looks like mine went from 3800 to

03/09/2011 - (4B00) Your car is bayed and is waiting for transportation by truck, rail or transfer to vendor.

The plant is about 300 miles south of me on I35, do you think they will just send it up on a truck or send it part way by rail, then truck it the rest of the way. I see Tahoes and Suburbans transport trucks all the time, out on I35 but I think the rail yard is in OKC, so I am not sure if they get sent to the rail yard in OKC from the plant in DFW, or if they just truck them north right to the dealers.

Any thoughts on how GM determines the use of rail or truck transport?
