New Truck Order Tracking

Recommended Posts

The Ft Wayne assembly plant never shut down. In fact they added a 3rd shift. Gm did find another transport company, Jack Cooper Transport. Gm parked trucks from the assembly line for 2 days in a lot on site. My guess is they are trying to catch up with shipments. Do a Google search on "GM sues Allied". We just have to be patient and enjoy our great new trucks when we get them. I have a GMC Sierra 3500HD,ext cab, long bed, 4WD, DRW, Duiramax/Allison, loaded with almost evey option available to pull my 2010 Mobile Suite 17,500 lbs 5th wheel trailer.

I just talked to a driver for jack cooper transport and he says that they are actually buying Allied Systems Holding Inc. go figure. allied actually chopped Driver pay 25% without the 7 day required advance warning and demanded 15% shipping increase from GM, and thats what started the whole mess. I guess they really wanted to go out of bussiness. trucks and vehicles have all beeen released from allied and they are shipping like mad. hiring all allied drivers and pulling trucks from everywhere to fill the increase from allied snafu. My new truck should be here any day now.

replacing my 02 2500 HD extcab diesel 4x4 longbox w 138000 miles and starting to smoke. puting the 3900.00 injector repair costs towards newer and stronger truck.

Mike,

Thank you for the information. I'm also replacing a 2002 2500HD ext cab, long bed, 8.1 gas/Allison with 40,000 miles on it. I only used it to pull my trailer. Can't wait for the additional POWER and all the new stuff. Enjoy your new truck.

Not sure exactly what you mean. Post up your order number so I can see the history. Perhaps they waited until they had available allocation to place the order. Did it go right from 1100 to 2000? If so that would probably be the case. I agree. waiting on a truck is a pain in the rear...At least now it should be moving along. Larry

A bit off topic, but not really. What do you mean when you say the dealer was waiting for available allocation? Is the dealer limited in how many vehicles he can order? Would seem to me that the factory should just take the orders as they come in (like the local Pizza Hut does) and queue them up.

Yes dealers are limited and can only submit orders when they have earned them. Each month they get a report called an allocation report which shows how many of each model they can order and in which week. Then each week they submit a Consensus report ordering any cars and trucks they can based on available allocation. Providing that a car or truck does not have any constraints then it will go thru what is called a pass one report and be accepted by GM for production and your status will move to 2000.

In some cases a dealer will not be able to order more cars until he sells one he has in stock already. This is called churn and earn. I know that is a highly technical term....lol but it is intended to promote the dealer into selling its available cars which in turn keeps them from asking for huge premiums over msrp on their lot cars. Probably not an issue with a truck but on some of the limited models it can be. Larry

This is Larry from Chevroletconnects. Thanks to google alerts I knew where to come and offer help or answer any questions. Basically, since this forum is for both GMC and Chevrolet trucks I feel it is important to explain a few differences in our service to avoid confusion. Chevrolet sold retail orders update automatically every 2 hours 24 hours a day 7 days a week. After you register, you will get your first update in about 2 hours tops.Your order is tracked from the moment your car is ordered Status 1100, all the way until it is delivered and your paperwork is complete. GMC updates are done manually, and will be updated usually the next business day. We can manually track GMC trucks from order 1100 to built and vin issued at 3800. No Logistics data is available from GM to us at the present time. (but we are working on it).

We also can help provide assistance in tracking your trucks on the railroads (CSX and UP) all the way to the local distribution center yards. And if you are lucky enough to be in a service area that AAG or Cassens trucking does your delivery to your dealer, we can also provide their tracking automatically right on your status updates.

If you guys want to start a tracking thread right here we would be happy to check in and answer question and help in any way we can. We can also help by looking up your Target Production Weeks when they are available.

Now a little about us. Hylton and I founded our tracking service a just about 20 months ago. Initially, it was to track Camaros during its rollout in March of 2009. Like you all, we are just regular GM enthusiasts and customers. We were not able to get updates from our dealer without feeling like we were interupting their day or being a pest. And little or no information was available from any source. So we began contacting some of the fine folks at GM to see if we could get access to the data. Well within a few months we finally were able to convince them that we could share information on a limited bases to the customers and that it would improve the buying experience. Well one thing has led to another and we found ourselves growing in use at a very fast pace. That led us to develop the site as you now see it. We have merged production data along with logistics data and incorporated features that dealers have asked us for. Yes I said dealers, along the way we found that many dealers were using our service as it was faster, and more robust than what they had access to. They could even set up their customers for the automatic email updates which actually made them look like a champ by keeping their customers updated, hassle free and at no cost. Speaking of costs. Our site is free to use, has no advertising and no spam. Obviously, the data belongs to GM and we are not allowed to profit from the data provided. Pretty simple!

Our site is operated 100% by customers that have also been thru this whole sold retail order process so we totally understand the confusion, stress and worries that we all go thru. Please let us know if you need anything and please feel free to use the service. Post or PM me with questions and I will usually get to every one of them within the day.

I ordered a truck on March 19, 2011 and I have called my dealer twice now to gat a build date. Today, April 2,2011 he says it's preliminary. Is there any way I can track my order myself??? Thanks Bob

You can call this number in Canada 1-800-263-3777 , think its option #5 in the menu. You might have to have the dealer order # , but they may be able to do it with your name and the selling dealers name

call the Customer Service dept. at Phone:800-222-1020, keep hitting zero until you get live person. If you are nice and they are having a good day, you will find out what is happening. after 2 calls on my truck, they basically told me to call me dealer for further updates.

where the heck is my truck seems to be stuck some where in the shipping process. or parked somewhere. order # PMVF53 /ny

Mike, I read on another forum, Duramaxforum.com, that gm is holding shipments until the DEF tank problem is solved. I don't know if this is true or not. I tried to find the post again but can't seem to find it.

Mine is sitting at 3800 but mine is a GMC so no more updates are available and the window sticker won't come up until it's shipped. Mine was produced about the same time your's was.
