New Truck Order Tracking

The first update I got was on 3/9/11, "Just fixing some things, please be patient" It also says status 6000, delivered to customer or dealer has completed paperwork. Must be referring to the paperwork. Anyway, is it normal to go three days without any update or change of status? The order number is PKWK2H

Thanks,

Johnny

Mine went to shipped status this moring, dated shipped 3-10 wich was yesterday, but I don't know if it went by rail or truck?

Truck could mean it could arrive today, but rail I would expect maybe a week from now. How do I determine which way it shipped?

I saw several post reffering to tracking rail cars, but I did not see where they found the rail car number or where they, even saw thatit was rail vs truck?

Update, mine must have went via truck from plant to dealer, got the call this afternoon, that it is in and ready to pickup tonight.

Order tracking has been an awesome service. Thanks again.

On 3/9/11, I entered my order number into the system and got a status report of 6000 on 2/28/2011 with the explanation that they were fixing some things, please be patient. It also read that 6000 was delivered to customer or dealer completed paperwork. In my case, that was the date I submitted the paperwork. Now, it still is status 6000 but no longer indicates "fixing some things, please be patient". Is it dead in the water? Did it fall of the assembly line? I don't know, Any ideas? The order number is PKWK2H, and it is a GMC. I ordered the truck on 1/28/2011.

Thanks,

Johnny

Johnny, once it goes to 5000 or 6000 it no longer shows up on the export for the manual updates and since he is not the selling dealer he will only see the same thing a 6000 status. But there is not any logistics data for a GMC available to us anyway so we would have stopped at 3800 anyway....Sorry bout that...Larry

breaking news. Colorado trucks on order this will have an effect on your timeline.

CHICAGO (AFP) – A shortage of car parts from disaster-struck Japan has forced General Motors to temporarily shutter one of its factories in the United States, the firm said Thursday.

Production at an assembly plant in the southern state of Louisiana will halt for one week "due to a parts shortage resulting from the crisis in Japan," the Detroit, Michigan-based company said.

The 30-year old Shreveport factory employs 923 workers, producing the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles.

Before the announcement, experts had expressed fears that damage and blackouts in quake-hit areas of Japan could cause parts shortage around the world.

While Japan produces a vast range of cars each year, Japanese manufacturers are also a vital cog in the supply chain for US and European automakers.

"Like all global automakers, we will continue to follow the events in Japan closely to determine the business impact," GM said.

"We will resume production at Shreveport as soon as possible," it said.

"At all other plants in North America, we continue to run normal operations."

Wow, my truck is here in my city sitting on a rail car, nobody can touch it, some kind of labor dispute between the railway and GM, nice.

The wait after my truck was built until it shipped was the hardest part... then it took 5 days to get from railyard to dealer..

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Allied System Holdings agreed to withdraw its attempt to unilaterally cut the wages of more than 2,500 Teamster carhaul drivers, averting a strike that would have impacted the delivery of vehicles throughout the country. The wage cuts would have been in violation of the Teamsters National Carhaul Agreement.

The Teamsters National Automobile Transporters Industry Negotiating Committee (TNATINC), which bargains on behalf of the carhaulers, was able to reach a resolution with Allied after a series of meetings with the company since it announced the cuts on March 9.

“I am proud of our members at Allied who stood strong in solidarity through this difficult process,” said James P. Hoffa, Teamsters General President and Chairman of TNATINC. “Our members have sacrificed so much the past three years to help save this company. Allied knew that they would not stand down. Our members will now receive the proper payment under their existing contract.”

In December 2007, Teamsters at Allied approved a plan to help save Allied, which included 15 percent wage cuts that were in effect for about two and a half years. The concessions were set to expire last May, but Allied balked and wanted the concessions to continue. However, a federal bankruptcy judge rejected the company’s efforts and the company finally agreed to pay an additional 20 percent as it was required to do under the original plan, retroactive to May 30, 2010.

Allied is contractually bound by the agreement to pay the industry-negotiated rate. Cassen’s and Jack Cooper, carhaul companies that are also covered by the Teamsters National Carhaul Agreement, are currently paying the established rate.

“Our members were prepared to go out on strike to ensure that Allied honored the contract,” said Fred Zuckerman, Co-Chairman of the Committee and Director of the Teamsters Carhaul Division. “I am relieved that Allied decided to do the right thing and today our members will be where they want to be – on their trucks, doing their job.”

System-wide, 58 Teamster Locals represent the 2,500 Allied carhaulers throughout the U.S. and Canada and hauls cars for General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Volkswagen.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million hardworking men and women throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. For more information, please visit www.Teamster.org.

The 5 days mine sat in the railyard was less than 10 miles from our home, the dealer is 80 miles away...
