What To Buy? Suv, Truck, Or Other

Okay, so I traded in my new truck right after Christmas in 2010 and I've been "flipping" cars as of lately.

But with gas prices the way they are, big V8's are taking a hit and are going to continue to do so. So why not buy one dirt cheap?

 

 

My budget is around 20k. The vehicle I buy will be used as commuter vehicle to work, school, the beach and the occasional off-road..

 

These are the vehicles that fit my budget..

2003-2005 Hummer H2 with 50k+ miles.

2005+ Tahoe z71 4wd

2007+ Escalade SUV or EXT (80k+ miles)

2007+ Silverado/Sierra Crew Cab 4x4 (70k+ miles)

2007 Sierra Denali (80k+ miles)

 

and im considering a diesel (i dont need it but could resell it later in the fall)

soo maybe a 2003-2007 Duramax, Cummins, and even a Powerstroke (if KR or Harley version)

 

or what would you buy??

What did you trade you truck in for? or in other words, what is your DD now?

I traded the truck for a Land Cruiser..

 

then i sold the land cruiser and got a cadillac cts-v (that was a beast an lots of fun)

 

i sold the cts-v and picked up a camry which im going to resell as soon as the title arrives from the dmv.

 

so i'm currently driving a camry.

4.00 diesel? Having a hard time finding gas that cheap around these parts. 5.06 for diesel today!

Why have you gone through so many cars? Can you not pick one and just be happy with what you have. There are some people in this world who would sell their sole just for 1 reliable car to take them to and fro work.

In Texas it's around $4/g for diesel

Yeah it is, My wife has an 07 escalade with 70k miles, no issues so far. But i really dont know much about the engine. I haven't heard any negatives, but wanted to see if anyone has heard any positives or negatives.

That generation or camry was actually a fantastic car to drive, the guys and I had one for a weekend road trip and it was amazing for a 4cyl family car.

If I could get another truck right now, I would get an 2003 Silverado SS AWD. Out of the options listed I would get a 2009 Silverado Crew Cab with the 6.2l.
