If you purchase the new Cold Air Intake from GMPP. It replaces the box . Had mine done by chevy dealer. Great job and gobs more torque. smoked my brothers 4.6 Tundra by 5 lengths at track. Mine is on 2008 5.3 Z-71

Wrong, they do nothing for power and torque just give you more noise and make you think you have more power.

And you base this assumption on what evidence. Do all of the people and dynos at K&N have it all wrong. It is the same setup as the K&N.

Don't recall K&N using the technical term "gobs" in any advertising. If you consider 2 or 3 hp to be "gobs", then more power to you. Wonder what you call a 20 hp gain?

I said gobs more torque, if you really want to nitpick. Why don't you try the Tundra forum. I'm sure you can argue about something that you don't know anything about over there and they won't care.

Well then teach me. Exactly how many lb/ft of torque are in a "gob"? Does having "gobs" mean you have multiple "gob"? I guess these are new terms, since in the 35 years I have been a licensed mechanic, that term has never come up. Maybe it is because we are metric up here.

1 Gob = "The box said it would add some."

Gobs = "It must have helped because this thing was expensive."

:dunno: Now that was a good one.

Well, if you want to know the truth. It has a shiny cover over the box, so its gotta make gobs of something.

Oh yea, i got a sticker that said GM PERFORMANCE PARTS which should give me better reaction time.
