Backspace Vs. Offset

Ok... Time to teach me something about fitment between these two wheels

8" wide wheel with a 0 offset and 4.5" backspace

9" wide wheel with a -6 offset and 4.75" backspace

Which one will "fit" better or will they both be the same due to the wheel widths?? Is backspace or offset more important for the "rub" factor..

general rule is:

negative offset will push the wheel farther out (moves the mounting surface of the wheel farther in, which pushes the wheel farther out)

positive offset will tuck the wheel farther in (moves the mounting surface of the wheel farther out, which tucks the wheel farther in towards the vehicle)

I know that much...My question was in regards to two different wheel widths and how they relate to each other with similar specs.

They are about even on the backspacing but since the the 2nd wheel is wider it would have a greater chance of rubbing. They will both stick out the same amount, and with essentially 4.5" of total backspace on both wheels they will stick out.

Roughly .75" and offset and BS are one in the same.
