Usb Radio Function Question

Hi every one. I just installed a HU in my 2011 with the usb function. It works as it is supposed to, but I have a couple of questions.

 

1. Why doesn't the player remember which song it was at when the vehicle is turned off - it always returns to the first song.

 

2. Is there any way to have the HU default to the shuffle function when a usb device is connected?

 

I am using a usb thumb drive at the moment, I am assuming that an ipod would act exactly the same.

Oh, by the way, I installed a usb panel mount keystone in the upper glove box, not sure why GM didn't put one there in the first place.

My HU remembers what song it left off on, only if you do not disconnect the ipod. If I disconnect, shut off the power, then restart, it defaults to a shuffle function. Not sure that helps you or not, but it gives you an idea what an IPOD Touch will do.

I use an iPod and it remembers what song it was on and I'm pretty sure it will run whatever playback mode was selected on the iPod before plugging it in (shuffle, repeat, etc.). I'm away on business this week so I can't verify that though.
