Its cleaner looking but if it is required by law (which I was inquiring about) then you would have to have it. Many states require this.

Thanks, I just bought a drill to tap out the rivets in the mount just havent gotten around to it yet, so rocking it like this for now.

Its required in IL, but on all my old cars Ive always told the dealer not to mount the plate or drill any holes before I buy it but the truck already had it. Ive only gotten one no front plate ticket in the last 5-10 yrs so to me it's worth the risk of having a cleaner looking truck.
