Intake And Leveling

I am getting rid of my sierra denali with the 6.2 liter and switching to a 2007 5.3liter. Does anyone if my K&N intake off my 6.2 Liter will fit on the 5.3? And can I just trun the torsion bars up in the front to level and get an alignment or is it necessary to get a leveling kit? Thanks for your help in advance

Maybe,and no :sigh:

Depends on what year your Denali is....'09-up uses a different style MAF sensor than the '07-'08 trucks do ('09-up uses a "bolt in" style sensor where the sensor bolts into the top of the air cleaner housing,'07-'08 uses an "in-line" style sensor thats actually part of the intake tube)

So if you have an '07-'08 Denali your good to go,if your Denali is an '09-up it won't work.

And the 1/2-ton GMT900 trucks do not have torsion bars, they use coil springs, which require a leveling kit.

it is a 2008. Thats greats that it will work. I thought because it is a different motor it wouldn't work. But I am no mechanic by any means. Sounds like everyone gets the RC leveling kit so I'll probably go that route. Also, what gears come standard on most 5.3 Liters?

That year either 3.42 or 3.73,Post the last eight digits of the VIN and I can run it and find out.

In a 2008 I would say 3.42 or 3.73 most likely with a 4 speed tranny.

Yeah,definitely 4-speed

i have seen some people get the Rough Country level kit, then throw it out the window. ReadyLift is a site sponsor and they make levelling kits also.

but don't take my word for it, i'm just speaking what i've read... i haven't researched it at all.

Hmm,Thats news to me :sigh: all the guys I know on here that have it love it,myself included.

Now they're 3" lift kit causes a lot of issues, and most guys remove it before too long because of ball joint wear and bad CV angles.

yeah that's what i'm talking about... i've read one of their kits was not worth getting. like i said, i haven't really researched it, because i dont plan doing it to my 2wd

is the 5.3 truck your gettin a nnbs or a classic? if its a classic you can adjust the t-bars

You know I never thought about asking him that :sigh:

If its a GMT800 you can adjust the t-bars,also the CAI kit from his '08 Denali won't work either then, since its a totally different setup/design.

Its an nnbs and just took it off my denali and read in the directions that the intake will fit that model. I'm pumped. Not sure if I should spend the money on exhaust and wait to get a tune or just get the tune.Yes, it is 4x4.

I personally I'm not really mechanically inclined but my dad is. Can we put this leveling kit in with me being the tool bitch without getting into a fist fight?
