2011 Hd Steering Stabilizer/absorber

I have a 2011 Silverado HD CC Z71 4x4 and am trying to dampen the steering somewhat. Will the GM part number 25888044 Steering Stabilizer/Absorber simply bolt on with no issues? I have a SuspensionMaxx, Maxx Cam 3 leveling kit installed if this makes any difference. Thanks

There isn't a GM steering stabilizer shock that will work on the '11 and up HD's. Make sure your brakes aren't dragging, if you have an intermittent steering wheel shake concern. See PIT5037B.

Thanks for the information-Tom

Thanks for the tip! I've been experiencing intermittent vibration in the brake pedal when the engine is cold and I'm stopped. Now I know its something that is documented!

The steering gear piston diameter is larger and capable of higher pressure on the 2011 trucks. The piston in turn, dampens like a steering stabilizer, hence why there is no need for one to be on the truck, as it was designed without it. Per PIT5052B however, GM does say that there is a stabilizer in the parts catalog but is not intended for use for the brake and steering vibrations, and the part is not intended for warranty repair (I assume it would be customer pay to add on).

If I recall, the 2010 and back stabilizer will not work and would create a sticky on center feel.
