3-d Grille Bowtie

I don't think this was getting too much attention in the high jacked thread I had it in and I wanted to share it with more people so I'm going to re post here. Hopefully I don't get anyone upset.

I removed the clear from the stock emblem, the billet ended up fitting inside of it, So painted the stocker red, added a carbon fiber overlay on the billet and reattached both to the grille. Let me know what you think.

How did you get the bowtie apart?

I just pried it apart with a screw driver, I would recommend some heat to help loosen it up. I broke the clear but didn't care since I had this idea in mind.

Not a big fan of the red but the carbon fiber overlay looks good. I just might try it on mine.

Red is an accent color on the truck, since the decals, shock boots etc are red. Plus it gives it a little old school Silverado SS too.

I really like the look. And yes it does remind me of the Silverado SS look.

I can't decide what I want to do with my bowties. The rear on on my truck has the beginning stages of the problems seen on a lot of the new trucks (turning black). Just not sure what would look the best on taupe gray tailgate, and chrome front end.

Thanks for sharing the look. I do like it.

I removed the rear one, I think the end gate looks much cleaner without it.
