Is there such a thing as a fast manual tranny car that is SAFE, moderately big?  Im not talking 200 hp fast, im talking 300 hp fast.  I have been trying and trying to think, and just cannot think of any.

I don't think the 5 series is really a big car...it's about the size of an impala.  I think it's about the biggest car with a manual tranny though.

I'm almost postive you can get an Audi S8 (sport version of a regular A8) in a stick...and thats over 300hp.

I have to mention that had to take a couple deep breaths when I saw "Impala" & "M5" together in a catagory as mentioned above.  They might be somewhat close in physical size, but that's it....the M5 is truely a beast of its own.

EDIT:  As of now, the S8 is not spec'd with a manual tranny.  But, however, VW is introducing a new flagship vehicle which will use or atleast be an option with certain engines.  Here is some info about this beast of a vehicle.

I love my truck & GM....but when it comes to technology (engineering), they are way behind companys such as VW and Audi.... just look at their new "W" engines....its a work of art!  And you want to talk about some serious diesel engines, just look at their lineup.....just amazing!

Ok...my $0.02 has run out....  :(  I'll crawl back under my rock....LOL!

The cars you are asking about are EXTREMELY expensive.

AMG has the S55 with a touch-shift fully controllable automatic 5-sp tranny and 500hp

Wait a year or two, the GTO and then eventually Impala, Monte Carlo, and new Malibu will come with LS1's and 6 speeds.

Hells yeah, brutha!  :thumb: Depending on what my income is gonna be at the time the GTO comes out: Im planning on buying one... If I cant afford 'er then i still can always fall back on a nice used '01 or '02 LS1 F-body...

:( Don't worry, I was only comparing physical dimensions and why I thought the M5 wasn't a "big" car. :flag:

Dang, How big are we looking for here? Like a '70's Lincoln Continental  :D The M5 is a bit bigger than an M3.

I can't wait for that GTO to get here. Hold me back.

Thanks guys.  One problem though.  I refuse to drive a german car.  Personal sentimental reasons...I was thinking of the 04 GTO, or 95 Jaguar XJS, found one that is V12 and is going for about 10g.  The only problem is its not stick. :D  Arg.  This search is a bitch...

I told the G/F that she will be trading in her Malibu for a GTO.  She then complained that she couldn't drive a 6 speed, to which I said "You're going to learn!"  :D
