Traction Control Question

Recommended Posts

Posted

Here is the situation:

I broke a leaf spring, in the process the leaf spring swung out and snap the line controling the traction control / stabil track / ABS.

The dashboard lights up (of course)

I splice and reconnect the broken wire (some lights go off)

The dash continues to say service TC ect and thats it off. The only dash light on is the traction control light.

What do I need to do to get the traction control back on, I trust mechanics as far as I can throw them and dont want to go to the shop and say what happened, I want to tell him what to do.

So is this a simple go get the computer reset (is that even an option) Ive checked all fuses (I think) and none are blown.

As is sits the truck drives fine and everything is fixed up except that the traction control remains off even thou I have re connected wire.

Advice?

I am somewhat truck savy but im not so familar with the workings of newer trucks.

EDIT* Can I reset the computer myself kinda like pumping the pedal 3 times to reset the oil life remaining?
