Brake Booster To Master Cyl Push Rod?

Recommended Posts

does anyone know on the new trucks say 2007 3/4 or 1 tons if they have an adjustable push rod between the hydro brake booster and master cylinder or is just a fixed push rod from the factory? thanks

I doubt very seriously that it is adjustable. Most production line vehicles use a standard length rod.

They must have really tightened up the tolerance on the brake booster to pedal clearances. Used to be most had an adjustable rod, at least with Chrylser it was that way.

Looking at the only exploded diagram I have, there does appear to be an adjustment stop nut. Now I'm wondering.

could you link me over to that diagram or email it to me. [email protected]

i just had the booster and master cyl replaced and the pedal has just a touch more travel before it engages the brakes than i like or had with other exact model year trucks. Its not air as its not really spongy and once they do engage i have plenty of strong brakes. its just like there is a little to much clearnce between the booster push rod and master plunger but i am not even sure they are adjustable like they used to be. I dont mind seperating the master and adjusting it a little but i would had to waste my time splitting them only to find its a fixed push rod from gm

Only diagram I have is in a book. It looks like the adjustment is at the brake pedal or near it... if it's like yours. If so you should be able to see it under the dash.
