i have a 2004 gmc 2500 and my ac keeps going from hot to cold on the driver side and stays cold on the passenger side.it has the slide temp controls not automatic.is there a sensor or something that is bad.you can move the slider to any position and it has no effect.

Blend door actuator, lucky for you it's the driver's side that's bad. If you do a search for blend door actuator on here you'll find plenty of info on it.

mine did the exact same thing today. The truck was sitting up all week becuse I was out of town, and when i cranked it up, the driver side started blowing hot air like I had the heater on high, but the passenger side was ice cold.

It did fix itself by turning the truck off, waiting a few minutes, then restarting it.

ok so does anyone have an actual real fix for this yet instead of throwing parts at it.its definatly a computer problem, now that its winter the driver side blows cold air instead of hot when you want heat and as your driving it will keep going from hot to cold.if i turn the a/c on it will blow hot air for longer periods of time but still keep going back and forth.something is telling the actuator to open or close is there any kind of temp sensors in this system or is it all pre programmed.
