New updated 1/8" SS waterjet skidplate v.3 with my original 'special ops' design (actual pcoat swatch below it)

skidplate-1.jpg

All above to be pcoated in the transparent copper, along with the King coil springs with matching copper anodized King coilovers made to fit my lift. The diff cover will have the fin edges in copper, the rest of the housing in fine black texture, wanted to try someting different.

Previous custom fabricated hoops and FOA shocks sold and gone.

Candy powdercoat is the hardest to work with, it's very easy to go too dark.

Powder came out looking exactly like the Rootbeer candy (bike frame I found online before deciding on the lighter more vibrant copper transparent) Each pic has the sample swatch next to it, they look NOTHING alike.

I have to sand down the UCA's and respray base and top coat all over again. Build up of powder on the edges looks like garbage, my powdercoater had trouble with the powder adhering to certain parts so that happened.

I can have the coils resprayed and try to go lighter on the copper transparent. The darker color look good, I'm just thinking if it's too dark it may not show well in the wheel well, under the truck..etc.

I have to decide quick, because KING has my matching anodized coilovers done, they need the coils. That's the other issue, the anodizing my be lighter since they matched the sample swatch.

Below is a pic of a bike frame I originally found online done in a rootbeer candy. The rootbeer candy sample I ordered looked more like drab brown than anything which is why I went with the copper transparent.

The original rootbeer candy I liked:

Umberto,

Long time no see. that is looking pure bad did you make all trucks this yr?

Hey Rich, no I did not make it, I had planned on it and even registered, but things happened and I just couldn't swing it. Next year. I assume you weren't able to make it either?

Nah I didnt go either to much stuff around hosue and with 2 kids now. I plan on it next going to get some more things done to the truck by then! So whats plan on wheels you changing them also ? I see James went with BMF's.

In this particular shot you can see the color I think the coils should be. That lower section of the coil was shot in a slightly lighter coat, it's NOT the lighting.

As far as the color, it's time for a change. At least I didn't do a lime green, or day glow orange.
