Hey, the 2011 duramax is listed at 397hp and 765ft-lbs. a buddy of mine swears he saw one in that had a "405hp" emblem on the side of it. My question is, did the denali receive a different engine? or could you get a different engine as an option? Thanks.

No, they only came with 397 HP in the duramax. I doubt they would make changes to a denali specific motor to gain a whopping 8 Hp too lol

The owner put that on there.

btw - The 6.2L gas engine is 405 hp.

Perhaps the duramax in the Denali uses high-performance sparks plugs. After all, they'll make a Civic go faster.

I'm kidding....you all know that....right ?

Ya, that was the other thing I thought. It coulda been the 6.2L. Which makes 407HP I believe. Was that even available in the 2500HD denali though? Anyways, Just wanted some backup before I call him a liar.:thumbs:

It could've been a gasser and not a diesel.

403hp @ 5700rpm and 417tq @ 4300rpm right off GM's website

403, 405, 407...same thing lol.

Is it possible a certain dealership chips them and puts the emblem on? Like a one-off thing? I've seen dealerships up here in canada put lifts on trucks and warranty them. FX4 ford comes with a 6" lift and has an FX6 decal on it. Stuff like that....I dunno.

I am guessing the owner got a 405 HP emblem from a Corvette ZO6 and stuck it on his truck.

The Z06 has 505 HP

It's either the 6.6L Disel or the 6.0 gasser. I don't think they've ever put the 6.2L in a 2500HD. He got the badge somewhere and slapped it on.

Maybe he put a throttle body spacer on it?
