Supposed to just be lotsa rain up here in NH last I looked. I'll shuffle some things around and make space for the truck in the barn to keep it safe from falling branches but I already got canned soup and the house has a 175 gal pressurized tank for water so I'm good.

Also have 800-1000 rounds each of 9mm and .45 in case anyone wants to try and take that stuff from me. :)

Best of luck to everyone on the East coast. We had a storm Memorial weekend with 80 mph winds that only lasted 30 minutes that caused alot of damage, can't even imagine what you guys are going to go through.

God be with you.

Just gonna put some gas in the truck....get a few groceries....clean the rain gutters on the house.....almost forgot, a stop at the liquor store. I heard something about 100 mph winds in my area of Connecticut :) I won't believe it till it happens

Prepping up here in NH as well. Seems like this could either be a horrible disaster or nothing. Can't determine which at this point.

Central Mass. here. I heard this morning that the eye is supposed to go right over us.

we got some extra water, filled both gas tanks. Got some propane for the grill and some coleman gas bottles for the coleman stove just in case.

we will take in the pool toys and patio furniture then just sit and wait.

I grew up near Belvidere NJ and lived right on the Delaware River.

I remember Andrew, I was a kid yet so I don't remember the details of the strength when it hit up there but I believe this is going to be stronger and more direct.

Prepare and stay safe.

I live in Maryland, on an island in the middle of the Bay. We're only a few feet above sea level. I got my generator running, going to the store going to get some bottled water. Tonight I'm moving most of my stuff to the second floor.

The county that I live in has issued a volunteer evacuation order.

The last major hurricane, Isabel, did some minor flooding, got to keep the sump pump running.

Wife and kids are in Eastern NC and I am seeing that they should be getting tropical storm winds only. I am praying that is it as i am a long ways away and they had some nasty tornadoes hit in April not far from the house, so we dont need any more nasty weather to come down on us.

You guys further up the coast, be safe and I hope this thing dont turn nasty on any of us. I will cross my fingers for all of us.

Just starting to see it here in NH. Raining a bit and fairly windy. Power has been on and off. Nothing special yet, just another storm.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
