I put my new rims and tires on yesterday and since I have't had an alignment done in awhile, I figured it would make sense to get it done now. I called my local Chevy dealer and they want $140. Is this about right? I live in NJ. I know some local shops that will do it for half the price, but doesn't GM have some wacky specs that local places may not be able to match?

$140 is rediculous. Call them back and tell them that seeing as how you own a Silverado, that you only need a two wheel alignment not a four wheel alignment like you would if you owned an Impala. :lol:

P.S. Anybody can get alignment settings for any vehicle on the road.

Ask them if that price includes the KY. :lol: Cause your gonna need it, if you pay that price

At least make sure someone pulls your hair if you pay that :lol:

I paid 140 for a lifetime alignment at NTB but thats because it was required for the buy one get one free tire sale. Out the door mounted/balanced/kept my old tires/aligned 285/70/17 Terra Grapplers was $749.01 so i was not worried. Other than that 50-60 is plpenty for an alignment.

paid $79 for mine

(2 wheel as they dont adjust all 4 wheels)

Just called another local dealer and they want $148. What's going on here?! I asked if that were just for the front two and they said yes. I asked if that included anything else and they said nope... just the alignment. This is ridiculous!

Do you guys know the specs so that a local shop can do it?

The local shops have the spec's built into their alignment machines. They pay like 50,000 for a good alignment machine so they will have your truck.

GM Preferred specs are as follows:

Caster = Left 3.15*/Right 3.05*

Camber = -.10* both

Total front toe = +.10*

Thanks- cheapest so far that I found was $100. I'm going to keep searching.
