20x9 With 1mm Offset?

Hey all,

 

So I've been reading these forums since I bought my truck last July and have yet to been unable to find an answer to any of my questions. Whether it be lift size/install or common problems or mods or anything under the sun...until recently haha.

 

So I'm currently in the market to buy new rims and tires. I've tried searching for someone who has a 20x9 rim with +1mm offset on a leveled gmt900 but have been unsuccessful. I'm worried that this rim is going to stick out to far with just the level and running cooper zeon ltz's (305/50/20). Also, would a 275/60/20 be a better fit??

 

I know the stock offset is +31 but the rim is more narrow, so I dont know how these will compare. I'm also wanting to make sure that this rim will be okay to run if (more likely when) I go from the RC 2" to the BDS 6".

 

The rims also come in a +14...

 

Any help would be much appreciated!

In theory the 305 on the +14 offset will stick out the same as the 275 on a +1. 275/60 on a +1 will defo rub, I have 275/60 on 20x9 +14, I wish I had around zero tho, that extra half inch would be perfect just at or maybe a touch outside the fender.

Well you need to trim the very bottom of the front fender liner at the back for 275 60 20 +14 but nothing major

i am going to run a 20x9 with 0 offset and 305/50r20. Ive seen a few post on here with that setup and i like it! the 275/60 are taller and much skinner but i know u will rub bad with 0 offset. The 305/50 shorter but will look taller IMO and meaner with the being so much wider

305/55r20 with 0 offset! rub very little when backing up with wheels cut. Why i am running 305/50r20 just a little shorter

Not possible friend. You'll want a -12 offset or 4.5" backspacing to stick out that far and you'll need a sawzall to alleviate the massive rubbing you'll have. Might be better off with 0 offset / 5" bs, but still gonna need that sawzall. You might consider a 305/50/20.

Ok understand all I'm getting -12mm and 4.5 BS from the shop I'm working with too.

When will this rubbing occur? Only at full lock or hard turns? Or will it be bad just whenever I turn. Also the sawzall you mention is for the inner wheel lining plastic correct? I'm ok with that as long as the damn rims and tires don't stick out with the deep dish look. can you confirm that a -12mm and a 4.5 BS will look fairly normal and not create the deep dish rim look, that is simply the only answers I'm looking for before I pull the trigger. Thank you!

Depends on the wheel design. Sounds like you need to go look at some wheels since you have really specific wants. The sawzall will be for the metal behind the plastic liner.
