2008 Sierra 4x4 extend cab

Michelin LTX ms/2

Firestone Destination AT

I live in the northeast so snow driving is necessary.

Most of my driving is highway (95%) with gravel and dirtroads sprinkled in.

Also tow a BassTracker over the summer (aluminum so not very heavy)

Can you all give me some insight?

I have searched the threads but could not find the answer to my specific question

I know everyone has other fav's but really these are the only two I am considering

Thank you in advance for your input

Between the two I would go with the Michelins. They definitely seem to last longer, and are a good quite ride for on road, they will hold their own in the snow also.

I've used Dest A/T's, worked great & just put on some Mich LTX tires, which get great reviews. Right now there is a $70 rebate offer with Michelin tires(some anyway) at many retailers. It ends 22 Oct or so I think. That rebate allowed me to try the LTX tires at or cheaper than the Dest A/Ts. For serious winter driving I put 2 Blizzacks in back, though the LTX get O.K. reviews for winter driving. Do some research at tirrack.com. I ordered mine from tirerack.

thats where I was getting the information regarding the 2 choices. Actually I found a place near me that sell the Michelins. They mount and balance free so even with the seventy dollars back I would still save some cash becuse of the shipping costs. I think I am going to go with them

some good input can be found on tirerack.com

Check out those tires and the reviews. They should be pretty helpful and it also shows where the people live (state wise).

This isnt meant as a go search over there and blow off, I actually have read some good reviews of actual usage on their site.

i ran a set of mich ltx on my old f150 and they were the best road handling tires i have ever had. great traction wet and dry, very quiet. downside is not very aggresive look, ok for light offroad. I would not recommend any mud. I got stuck pretty bad with a set of those.

LTX M/S 2's I have a set and would recommend them. I have gotten 55K/65K out of the reg. LTX's the M/S 2's should do better, they are quite great in rain and snow. I run 285/70/17's 8 ply on my 1/2 ton.
