Dual Battery On California Truck

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 5.3 auto with trailering package that I want to put an auxiliary battery into to run a portable refrigerator and electronics on. Since this is a California truck, a smog pump (manifold air pressure, or auxiliary pump) is sitting on the factory installed auxiliary battery tray and there is not an obviously good place to relocate it to.

 

Much searching for factory and aftermarket solutions has returned less than satisfactory results and apparently GM did not offer a dual battery option on California 1500's. The dealer say's the current 2500's in California offer a dual battery option, so my question is: Where did GM place the aux air pump on trucks with the dual battery option in California trucks?
