2011 Gmc Sierra And Bluestar

Does anyonw know exactly how to find the onstar module in my 2011 GMC Sierra. I bought the bluestar replacement module and would like to install it and pair it with my I phone 4

I also understand that if I don't disconect the Onstar module properly the system may go into lock down.

OK I found it...mainly through reading alot of stuff in here....thank you everyone.

First I removed the fuse cover and started to remove the dash around under the steering wheel.

Then I took out the ashtray. Then one more piece of dash to the right of the ashtray.

There was a grey box....about 4 inches by 3 inches by 1 inch thick....This is the Onstar module.

I unplugged the on star and plugged in the Bluestar...There was an extra wire looking like an antenna wire...I unplugged that from the onstar unit and just left it hanging.

 

The bluestar worked right away....I paired my phone to it and tried it and everything seems to work fine. The radio shuts off and you phone is hands free......

 

Thanks again everyone for your help......Total time from start to finish....1 to 1 1/2 hours.....

Did your truck not come with bluetooth? My 2011 did but it's an LT-trim so it may be an option.
