Issues With My Truck... Help!

On my '95 Nissan 4X4 V6 truck, which came from the factory with oversized 31X10.5R15 wheels/tires, there were adjustable wheel stops on the front knuckle, which would prevent the large wheels from contacting the truck fenders or frame. I am not sure if GM trucks have similar wheel stops, but this would definitely be the way to go for larger diameter wheels without a suspension lift. The downside is less turning arc for the wheels and corresponding larger turning radius.

Those trucks had the worse turning radius....parking lots were a bear....I believe it was the "SE" models

OK... I am not putting the 17 inch wheels back on, and the 20 inch wheels are not rubbing on the truck anywhere. And can i just go into the dealer and give them that bulletin number and say fix it? I had them run the vin number on my truck and my 2001 suburban, and the only recall was a fuel module recall for the suburban. Oh, the 01 sub has 20 inch wheels on it as well and i have no issues with steering on it. The wheels were on it when i bought it.....

Apples to oranges. Two totally different trucks underneith.

As for the dealer fixing the truck because you take a bulletin number off the internet into them and tell them to fix it? On a 5 year old MODIFIED vehicle? Well, good luck is all I have to say about that.

That is strange, as I am pretty sure that 2001 Suburbans did not come with 20 inch wheels from the factory.

No, it didnt.I am assuming that the previous owner put them on. They are aftermarket wheels on my suburban and they are not extreme in size. And they do not rub or anything either.

My 2006 is a 2wd and I installed 20 inch wheels and tires and have had no problems with the power steering.

When I worked at the dealer we had issues with vehicles that went from 245 to 285 tires. Make sure your tire pressures are as high as you can make them.....less resistance to the pump
