Rough Country 5" Suspension Lift 2011 Gmc Sierra, What Else Do I

Hey guys, I've finally decided to lift my truck but this will be my first pickup lift as I am used to lifting jeeps. the lift i was looking at was a 5" from rough country (http://roughcountry.com/suspension/4wd-chevy/1500_5.html) and I want to do this right. When I have lifted my jeeps I always bought the complete set from skyjacker and bought a drop pitment arm just because i wanted it done right. So is there anything else i need to buy like that to make the job right? Also it says that I need 18" or larger rims but my rims are the 17" Z71 rims do you think they will still fit?

If you truly want it done right then you'll stay away from RC lol. There are many a horror stories about RC on this forum, mostly with the 3" but I'd be skeptical of the 5" as well.

 

Take a look at BDS, Fabtech, Superlift or Rancho. Those are the most popular on this forum and usually have everything you need.

i have the 5" on my '11. those 17's won't fit without a spacer, i got 1" spacers on the front.

i would look at zone 4.5" lift. OR for some serious money savings add a 1.5" BL, and a 2.5" leveling kit. if i had to do it all again i would have gone with the zone 4.5" lift. BDS is nice but its too expensive for me. i know you get what you pay for.

 

im currently running the RCX 4.75 with 10K on it with 0 problems

You should think about going ahead and getting a quality 6" lift from Fabtech, BDS, Superlift, etc. Do it right the first time, and never have to worry about it. For a bit cheaper, I have heard the Zone 6.5" is not bad. Good luck!

The RC 5" kit is a decent kit, but you will need wheel spacers for the stock 17's. I agree with Cole though about just getting a 6" kit. I've been through every height variation and would still go a bit bigger if I could. If I absolutely new I wasn't going to go any bigger than 4-5" I would go with a 3" body + 2" leveling kit.
