Best Way To Paint Exhaust Tip

I want to paint my chrome exhaust tip black but want to find the best way to do it. If you have done this how did you do it and what paint did you use? Also how well is it holding up?

You would need to use a high temp engine/grille paint (Rustoleum works well) or have it powder coated. Anything else won't work well. You are also going to have to really scuff that chrome, if not the paint will not stick and peel right off.

clean it with some degreaser inside and out, scuff it with some 600 grit, wipe it down with 70% IPA or mineral spirits, 2 coats of high temp primer, 3 coats of high temp black, 3 coats of high temp clear if you want it glossy. shouldn't cost more than $30 for supplies at your local hardware store. Home Depot and Lowe's have a pretty big selection of spray paint over auto parts stores.
