Bed Liner Opinions

I am getting a new truck and I was thinking of getting a bed liner.

What is better? Line-X, or Rhino Liner?

Do they fade at all after exposure to the sun? Are they really as tough as they claim?

Thanks

Thanks, I am guessing going aftermarket is better then getting it from the dealer right?

Usually, the dealer has some type of off brand srpay in liner. I know when my dad got his truck the sprayed "speed-liner". It holds up great but it's not even close to being as good as Line-X. He's got a couple chips taken out of it but it is heavily used. IMO you should stay away from dealer spray ins UNLESS they actually have Line-X. Some will refer to it as that but it's usually their own brand liner.

Thanks, Looks like they get Line-X or Rhino (Depending where I buy the truck) to do it. That's what they advertise anyway. I will be contacting the shops before making a decision on getting it done after I have the truck or letting the dealer deal with it.

Would I have trouble with a soft cover with the rails getting coated as well or rail covers?

My mother had Line-X over-the-rail liner and a TruXedo bed liner. They were installed at different times, with no plans for the cover when the liner was initially installed.

On a side note, the cover keeps the bed about 99+% dry.

That's what I want to hear! Thanks.

i've had Rhino and Line-x. Line-x is going to be a little more expensive, has a rougher texture, lifetime warranty nationwide, doesn't seem to fade as bad as others. the Rhino i had i was pleased with, some fade but nothing i couldn't live with, little more rubbery then Line-x. also has a lifetime warranty but you have to take it back to the dealer who sprayed it in, unlike Line-x where you can take it to any dealer in the US and have it touched up if needed. all in all i would say it's a toss up between the two for me. I wanted to try Line-x this time around so that's the only reason i went with them over Rhino. for me, it would come down to flipping a coin as to which one i'd choose. you couldn't give me those "cheaper brands". i've never been impressed with their durability.

I've only had a Line-X on a previous pickup and would only get the same again. Will probably get my current truck Line-Xed this summer.

That's guys.

Would I be better off with the spray on the rails or get the GM accesorry rail covers?

Thanks. I have not gotten a call back yet from the line x shop. Been a few days. What's everyone been paying for theirs?

+1 on the Linex. Had both in different trucks. I bought my 01 used and it had the original Rhino tuff stuff (think that was what it was called) very rubbery and didn't allow load shift, was a plus. BUT it did fade pretty badly. Also there was a chunk of it that had scuffed up where the tailgate and bed met. Had Line-x regular in my 04 and went with Line-x Premium over the rails on my new truck. Rhino is a good product "B" level, but Line-x takes honors in the class "A" level.

Rhino does have a new product called hardline that is supposed to look/feel more like Line-x. Might be worth checking into?? Good luck.
