Want to replace air tube but keep factory box

I don't want a K&N, they suck too much dust, I just want to get rid of the factory tube. It's got some resonation dongle thing hanging off of it, and I don't like it. Where can I find a plain tube, without box and filter and what not, so I can just keep my factory box?

Right off hand I believe autoanything.com has some choices. Look for air intakes. There all kinds of set ups but I believe sell just the tube. Also think K&N has one as well.

Airaid makes one, I just got it for my truck last week. I paid $120 ish and got it from Autoanything. While the price wasnt bad, their customer service and shipping sucked.

AirAid Modular Intake Tube (MIT) is exactly what you're looking for. Check around for the best price from forum sponsors.

They will clean up the looks of the engine a bit, and they make a slight roar when you punch it, but thats about all. The performance gains are negligable if any on a stock engine. They are mainly just eye candy and make your wallet lighter. I know, I have that exact setup.

Throttle response was better on mine after putting the tube and K&N filter in mine, maybe picked up 2-4rwhp but I liked it cleaned up the bay. They advertise that the AIraid tube flows about 400cfm more air than the stock tube.

Its not about the one particluar part but the sum of all of them.

I would consider building my own even... I've heard 4" PVC works? Or I could MIG or TIG one even, I'd have to find somebody to make any bends though...

Problem is that the tube is not round all the way, once it gets around the radiator shroud it flattens out then becomes round by the TB when it mounts to the TB.
