Didn't you test drive or at least look at the truck before you bought It??? Im sure the sunglass holder was not there when you bought it. Instead of Bi@%*ing about it you could have bought a vehicle with a sunglass holder. But then you would not have something to B%#*H about would you. JS, Did you take the truck to the dealer??? If it is as bad as you have mentioned Im sure GM would buy it back for you. "Has more squeaks and rattles than the 13 year old 266,000 mile truck I sold to buy it." Really? If your truck is that bad, you have something to complain about. Not just a lack of sunglass holder.

Thank you, someone that gets it.. it's not about the sun glass holder, just something I noticed GM has eliminated on almost every model. It's about a $50K truck that is missing some of the simple no-brainer options that even a pile of imported crap like KIA has..
Yeah who cares, right? Just paid $32k ... or $460 a month with $8,000 down for a truck that doesn't have the things that make life a bit easier, breaks several times even before the bumper to bumper is up, and has more squeaks and rattles than the 13 year old 266,000 mile truck I sold to buy it. Not to mention the 4 digit a year insurance, MA excise taxes, sales tax on the full price, & maintenance costs. In the future, I'll buy a 40 year old truck from AZ, install my OWN sunglass holder & keep my money where it belongs - in my friggin' pocket. It's your money. If you don't mind paying a ridiculous amount of your hard earned cash for nothing, then I'll send you my address. I could sure use a few bucks.

Yes really. It's been back to the dealer for that, and the pulsating brake problem it had on the test drive FIVE TIMES. It still has both problems, although I was able to lessen the pulsation with new drums & turned rotors. My lower ball joints were toast at 40k, and during an oil change yesterday at 50k, I just noticed the front diff bearing on the driver side is wasted. Was wondering why it was damp with gear oil. Now I know.

Unacceptable. GM will not get ONE DIME out of me EVER again. Burn me after I spent that much money & expect me to come back??????? Seriously????

As far as a sunglass holder goes (I don't wear sunglasses anyway)... still doesn't explain why a $50,000 truck DOESN'T have one .... and a $10,000 Kia does .....

Oh and I forgot to mention the electrical short that continuously burns out the right side marker light fuse under the hood. Now that's some quality right there .... :nonod:

$100 says that half of the problems you state that you have with your truck are neither problems and those that really are can be easily fixed. Feel free to post pictures of the "toasted" diff side bearing that you can somehow see from outside the diff while doing an oil change. Puleeze.

Squeaks, rattles and pulsating brakes aren't a problem in a $31,000 truck???????? Are you F'in serious ChevyTech??? You know more than anyone how "well built" these trucks are - you work with them every day! I guess GM is giving out free Kool-Aid as one of their benefits ..... :nonod:

I'll do you one better! Here's a video! S O your telling me it's NORMAL to have about .010" up and down play????

JUST TURN UP THE VOLUME - you can hear the up/down play.

Stop making excuses. I was the biggest GM fan on the planet, which is why I bought this thing in the first place. I tell it like it is. GM is building JUNK!! I'm done with GM ... and this thread. You guys can go right ahead and spend $50k on a truck that can't make it 40,000 miles before it breaks. I'll keep my hard earned cash in my pocket. Hindsight is always 20/20 - I WILL NOT make this mistake again.

I'll run this one into the ground (which shouldn't be too long), then park it next to the 2000 GMC Jimmy I have up on blocks (due to being another colossal turd) and part it out as well to other poor Silverado owners.

Hope it was worth it GM! Guess you don't need customers anyway!

How's about you take your acusations about me, and your killer video taking techniques, and go play elsewhere like you keep saying you're going to because you are certainly not what I would consider "trained" in this area of expertise (especially after watching your "proof" video).

Have a nice day.

Im not making excuses. If your truck actually has all the problems you say there are ways to remedy it. Just because your truck has problems does not meen they all do. Maybe you should trade it in for a Dodge or a Ford, they never brake. :idiot:

Ok well my bitch was that GM has done away with a simple and useful accessory.. I find it rather annoying, and if you had read my thread; in checking out almost every GM car at the autoshow I noticed it seems to be a common deletion in the GM line up.

As far as test driving, yup and I noticed it then, thought it was odd, got over it and moved on, my post and my comments were originally directed at the fact that as stated, it is a simple accessory that GM seems to have done away with on almost every model, along with several other little things that add convenience.

As far as other issues, the only major issue was the OnStar and GPS/Ipod radio, that took multiple visits and replacement of several modules and the USB wiring/port to correct 99% of the issues, to which I have had no problems with since.

Sorry if it seems to offends some of you that I paid a premium for something and expect it to work, and even worse, how dare I complain about it.

The lack of a sun-glass holder did not prevent me from buying the truck, but there is plenty of unused real estate inside these trucks that could have been better designed to accommodate some of the little convenience features that have come to be expected in 2011 and in a $50,000 vehicle, Ford did it, Toyota, Nissan, Dodge all did it, no reason why GM couldn't as well.

I don't have any of the other issues Jsdirt has complained about, and if I did that is way I have an extended warranty to cover it. The only other thing I have noticed which again seems odd is that my driveshaft is completely rusted from end to end in 20,000 miles, and I don't recall my 2000 Z71 having done that in 145,000 miles. I don't live in the snow belt, and the little bit of rain SoCal has gotten in the past year hardly seems like it should have rusted out the shaft..

Imagine....... went shopping for a sunglass holder and ended up spending $31K on a truck (with no sunglass holder)...... how does that happen? No wonder the guy is ticked...

LMAO!

Well I started out with the wife saying we needed a bigger travel trailer. I told her the only way we can get a bigger trailer was to get a bigger truck. She says "Lets go!", I say...well nothing because I was already turning towards to the dealer...

5 years/90k miles later...still enjoying!
