Seriously GM WTF?

I'm sitting here reading this and thinking to myself that of all the things in life you could gripe about, a sunglass holder in your GM vehicle takes center stage? I'm sure there are others that wish they could afford a truck, let alone a new truck. You know you're spoiled when.....

You'd better believe it. I worked my whole life to finally be able to afford a new vehicle. What a disappointment. I'd have been better off saving that money & driving my old '94!!

I'm not griping about a sunglass holder. I'm griping about a company that builds JUNK .. and people are dumb enough to keep buying it. MYSELF INCLUDED. Brake problems, trucks with less than 1,000 miles burning a quart of oil every 500 miles, pulsating brakes right off the lot, squeaks & rattles .. and doors that don't close right unless you SLAM them, and not to mention all the government mandated OBD-II BS. My truck needed lower ball joints at 40,000 miles! I'm such a spoiled brat to demand QUALITY for my hard earned money!!

Thank you, someone that gets it..

it's not about the sun glass holder, just something I noticed GM has eliminated on almost every model. It's about a $50K truck that is missing some of the simple no-brainer options that even a pile of imported crap like KIA has..

Yeah who cares, right? Just paid $32k ... or $460 a month with $8,000 down for a truck that doesn't have the things that make life a bit easier, breaks several times even before the bumper to bumper is up, and has more squeaks and rattles than the 13 year old 266,000 mile truck I sold to buy it. Not to mention the 4 digit a year insurance, MA excise taxes, sales tax on the full price, & maintenance costs.

In the future, I'll buy a 40 year old truck from AZ, install my OWN sunglass holder & keep my money where it belongs - in my friggin' pocket.

It's your money. If you don't mind paying a ridiculous amount of your hard earned cash for nothing, then I'll send you my address. I could sure use a few bucks.

What about the under hood light, cargo light button...... we could go on and on. What has gm added that we take for grantid? More airbags? USB to be able to plug in a flash drive or ipod and listen to music, etc. It may be a cost cutting measure but I am sure a sunglass holder was way at the bottom of customers lists when looking at new vehicles.

yes the list could go on and on..

all these things cut, price of the vehicle jacked up and up and up, when comparable vehicles at comparable prices have all those cut items and more, the excuse of cost cutting measure gets old.

The cost wasn't cut to bring the price of the vehicle down, but to bring the profit for GM up..

Don't mis-understand, I love my truck, but I do find it irritating (especially since I was able to do side by side comparisons at the auto show) that there are some serious features missing and the price for the GM is higher.

And you can't compare "well they took the cargo light but they gave us USB", apples to oranges IMO..

I've gotten very spoiled by the options on my truck & would hate to lose any of them. Probably, hell, it IS the reason I keep the old 800 around. Everytime I hit up a dealer I ask if they can show me a truck that has what mine has...nothing. I drive away happy knowing that I'm not going to "settle" for anything except what I want in a truck. I worked hard for my money as well, came from a poor family, I voluntarily joined the military (still serving) put myself through college, bought ALL of my own vehicles, bought a few for family members in need. I have my own family to support & if I want to bitch about a sunglasses holder or a missing cargo light button you damn well better believe I'm going to & have evey right to do so.

My 800 had one, but I used to fold them and use the rectangular part of he cup holder. I wear Oakleys with a straight stem so I just stick them in above the sunvisor. Works well for me. There are things that I miss from the older trucks though.

I tried to use the one in my old GMT-800 one time but the oakleys I had at the time (actually 2 different pairs) didnt fit very well and seemed like they were getting smashed.

My oakleys fit good in mine that i added..

I did line the inside with a foam tape to make sure nothing scratches them.

I have the limo strip of tint on my windshield coming down about 8" or so and sometimes the sun is so intense it still comes through it. Plus the sun sometimes is lower and blasts right through the middle of the windshield.

i keep sunglasses in the square CD holder in my 01 and it works perfectly

why would you tint your windsheild... i can barley see well out of my stock matched front windows at night
