as I had mentioned in the main DIC Upgrade thread, I FINALLY Took the plunge and ordered the Upgrade Last Friday. I picked it up Today, opened the box, and was shocked to find the reason WHY I Spent the $109.75 was MISSING! did somebody at the Factory (In F()&%^&^$ CHINA No Less...) screw up and not put the buttons in, or it is a ploy by GM to make me spend MORE Money and order the Buttons? let me get your input on this!

Sounds like the wrong part got shipped to you. Part # should be 19159438. The part you should have got should look like this:

I'd be calling whoever you ordered it from and see exactly what you ordered and compare to what was shipped to you. The only things that shouldn't be in the upgrade is the headlight knob and the dome light/dimmer control/fog light controls. Here's the link to the DIC on GM Parts Direct...

The GM Accessories Label On the Box CLEARLY shows the 19159438 Part Number!

And here's what was in the Box: its the Right Part, but Look at what's MISSING!

Ha, ha, ha yep, you got screwed!!! :dunno: Return time. I know how you feel. I bought the fog lamp kit and got two left fog lamps. Shouldn't be bad if you bought it local.

that I did; Bought it at Alexander Chevy (which is my Local Chevy Dealer, and the Dealer that DELIVERED The Win and Awesome!), but I'm not going to return it. I'm just going to go down, and order the switch bank, and I'll make sure to inspect the part before I walk out with it.

EDIT: it turns out I CAN'T Return the Part, Because I special Ordered it, and according to Alexander's Return Policy, SO Parts are NOT Returnable.

Not to be pissing on the fire, but that's the reason I've tried to get folks to order JUST the switch and install it in their existing panel. $36, or so, and they can't leave out a part of the assembly. Well, I guess they could. Anything's possible with the giveadam factor in decline, as it is.

I just installed the same one in a friends truck and the switch was loose in the bottom of the box , the switch was wrapped in a small piece of bubble wrap ...

Believe it or not, I have recieved a couple of these kits from GM that were missing the switch. Sounds like a bad batch of switch kits from the manufacturer. I would take this up with the dealer you bought it from , they can place a claim to General Motors and get you the switch you need to complete the kit.

And, for the record, General Motors manufacturer suggested retail price is $100.00 flat.

If you look at the label it says switch. I would go back to the dealer and ask where the hell the switch is. What you got was just the Instrument Panel Air Outlet Deflector.

I ordered one for my 2010 and it came with the panel and the DIC buttons, you need to take it back, someone forgot to put the switch in the box.

I don't see how they can deny at minimum a replacement since you didn't get what you ordered. I get not taking returns for other reasons but you gotta at least get what you ordered.

i would go up and talk to the manager, and not raise ten kinds of hell, just say plainly that you ordered a part and the part was not complete as it should have been. any decent dealer should take care of you, regardless of the policy.

That's the silliest thing I've heard in a long time. What if there was a lump of coal in the box, but the box had the correct markings. Still no return? Return the darn thing. As as been mentioned by a previous post, it's happened before. And Yes, mistakes happen, it certainly wasn't your mistake, so you shouldn't have to suffer the consequences.
