Nerf Bars for my 2011 Silverado

Here's my question I didn't get the side steps from the dealer as I wasn't sure I would need them but after 2 and half months of bow hunting I have decided to get them. I am either going to get one made by raptor or steelcraft and have the tools to do it. But I have read that the body bolts which is where the supports for the side steps attach are different on my 2011 Silverado as compared to past years in that GM put some kind of thread locking substance on them and that the middle one in particular is a problem that is the one that is between the doors. Should I attempt this or just pay a dealership to do it the reason I didn't want the factory ones is I wanted Stainless Steel not chromed. Any help would be appreciated.
