Hey folks,

I just traded my '07 Silverado 1500 for a '10 Silverado. I tow a pretty good sized camper (29' long, 6,500 pounds dry), and wanted to upgrade my ability...

The '07 was an extended cab Z71, 4X4, 5.3 with the 4-speed, 3.73 gears, LT2 option package, bucket seats & center console without leather, had 73,500 miles.

The '10 is an extended cab Z71, 4X4, 6.2L with the 6-speed, 9.5" rear, 3.42 gears (not the NHT), integrated brake control, LT1 option package, front 40/20/40 split bench with leather, with 9,500 miles.

I gained:

~3 model years

~Much better horsepower and torque numbers

~6-speed transmission

~9.5" rear end

~Integrated brake control

~Leather... and the bench is more comfortable than the buckets

I lost:

~Power passenger seat

~Self-dimming rearview mirror

~Rear window defogger (had never even been turned on!)

~Fog lights

~Best of all... 64,000 miles!

My trade deal was $10,000, out the door, including a Line-X over the rail liner. They gave me $18,100 for my truck, and I do believe I got an excellent deal...

I've always been a "bone-stock" kind of guy, but sure have enjoyed doing these few little add-ons:

~Leveling kit,

~Line-X upgraded to the X-tra (I wanted the UV protection and fade-resistance), ~Rugged Liner rear fender liners

~Du-Ha under the rear seat to stash my deer rifle and various "stuff." (I really like the Du-Ha, but dang, are they pricey or what?)

I am loving the new truck... even though the '07 was the new body style, there's just something I like about this one better!

Might be that sweet exhaust note! :)

Big Congrats, You'll love the 6.2L. It's a beast.

Most of the things you lost, you can add for a pretty reasonable price.

Here's my "baby," finally got it just like I wanted it! 2" rough country leveling kit, line-x x-tra over the rail bedliner, Du-Ha under the rear seat (to hold the deer rifle and other assorted junk), added the "6.2L VORTEC" stickers to the hood, and Rugged Liners in the rear fender wells... also replaced the stock front (junk) speakers with some nice Kenwood 3-ways, because the previous owner had cranked it up one time too many.

Also, before I swapped the wheels and tires, I couldn't resist bypassing the stabilitrack and traction control... just once! That was, let's just say, "exciting!"
