heating up

latley ive been noticing that my truck heats up a little under hard acceleration. i have a 1999 c2500 5.7 4l80e with 110000 miles on it. usually when crusing on the hi way the temp gauge sits 1 small line past that middle big line btwn 100 and 210. Anyways last week after driving for about an hour i had to get on a hiway on ramp that sloped up hill. I put it to the floor from about 30 to 75 to get on infront of a group of semis. when i let off the gas at 75 i noticed the tep gauge moving towards 210 and eventually making it to 210 before slowly dropping down. Over the next week ive noticed even under moderaly hard acceleration (3000-3500 rpm) the gauge moves up a line or 2. I put a new radiator, water pump and upper+ lower radiator hoses in in april of 2009 at about 80000 miles. I also flushed the dex-crap out and replaced with green. No problems with it til now. Anyone else's truck do this?

Thanks :)

Im pretty sure the thermostat opens normally. Ever since i changed it (same time as radiator) The truck heats up to 210 then drops off suddenly through the first couple miles of driving.

temp sensor? mine went out a month ago. Same symptoms as you. Easy to replace and fun

Are you low on coolant? If not, them likely not the head gasket. Maybe something is clogged or restricted from the flush, or a hose is collapsing at higher engine speeds.
