GM to acquire Daewoo

I think that GM is doing good by acquiring all of these little companies.  I mean, hopefully they can turn them around.  What's everyone elses take on it?

Growth is usually good, I just don't want to see any Lanso's running around with the SS badge on it ;)

I think, from what i've heard, is that GM may stop selling daewoo's in the US.

I think they are buying them for two reasons..

1. More market share...

2. To get an "in" into the asian small car market.

I haven't read the article that Joe has linked but if it's the entire Daewoo corporation,they are acquiring more than just a small overseas car company because Daewoo is also into other markets such as construction machinery.

I did not read the article but probibly should, if GM is buying the entire company then that is quite a catch. The company manufactures everything from small electronics to military hardware. That includes construction of Diesel Submarines.

Just read the article and it is just the car company. Too bad  GM couldnt get the entire company.
