Moaning 4X4

I purchased a 2006 z71 crew cab. in 4x4hi going mostly down hill it make a lot of moaning noise. Is this normal? Most of the noise comes usualy when im going down hill. What do you guys think. This is my first 4x4.

It is normal if your on dry pavement. You should avoid using 4X4 unless your in dirt or snow or mud. Driving in 4X4 Hi is not the same a AWD. The moans and grinding sounds are normal while turning and driving on dry pavement.

I would worry about it, check everything up front and call it good. A little transfer case and gear whine/moan is normal.

goin down a hill without bein on the gas or brakes is backlash in the transfer case. on another note all chevys ive owned had noisy front diffs
