Which level of tint should i go with?

I currently have a White 2011 Access Cab Silverado, with black wheels. I used to have a Scion Tc with limo tint, loved the look, but hated the fix-it tickets i would get. Can anyone with tint experience, tell me if they think a Silverado is more ticket attractive for tint?

My thinking is that Scion Tc's just get pulled over and are more of a young person car...

Also, if i get tint should i go limo, dark, or medium???

I hear ya on the ticket problem. I had the same problem when I was in high school and had the 5% tint all around. I'm sure the truck would be a little less prone to being pulled over for tint but I have a friend that still gets tickets with his ford explorer for his tint. I just get the legal limit now. Plus I don't have to worry about having to try to figure out what I'm going to do when it's time for my yearly vehichle inspection. I think as long as you put some level of tint on there it's going to look better.

I just put the lightest tint available on my front windows, and am very happy with results. When added to the factory tint, it's perfect. Around here, you are ticketed for any tint, so keeping it a bit lighter keeps the police less interested. Dark tint is an instant pull over and fine. Best thing was it was free, as I traded an old pair of fog light I didn't need!

If your back windows are factory tinted then go with 20% on the fronts. This will match the factory rears. What's what I did.

I'm running the same thing and it looks great and have no problems with tickets either.

Anything darker than 35% on the fronts is illegal here in IL. However, I have 5% over every window, including the factory tinted back windows....and haven't had any trouble with the law yet. :fingersx:

And...as stated already....15%-20% will match the factory tint on the rears...and will look great. If you're still worried about getting a ticket, then 35% should be prettty safe.

I'm not really worried about the tickets, i was just kinda curious to see if trucks were more prone to tickets like my car was, but i dont think so. Most likely i will go with a dark tint, and probably not limo.

Not sure how strict Cali is but on my truck I have 1% rears and 20% fronts, the fronts are on the verge of being too light but the rears are just right.

You learn to back up with strictly your side view mirrors instead of your rearview

If you want to match the rear factory tint, 15% is what you need. I'm running 15% on my truck and love it

15 percent window tint3

I've had every vehicle I've ever owned since the age of 17 tinted and I've never heard of 1% tint. Usually 5%/limo tint is the darkest. Then it gets lighter going up 15%,20%,35%. I'm in MD so maybe that's just here. I say go 5% on all 5 (sides and rear) windows. In md darker than 35% on the front sides is illegal. On rear sides and rear window you can go as dark as you care.
