Stevens11, I would say the headers gave me the most improvement. The torque and throttle response really was noticeable even before the bb tune. All of them combined (with the tune modified for all the boltons), she really hauls some ass now. I am gonna take it to the track soon and see what it will do for fun.

On my 6.2, If I granny it, I can get 16-18 mpg in the city and 22-23 on the highway. I have added arh headers, airaid cai, bb tune, and big body magnaflow so it has really improved the performance and gas mileage over stock. This is with 3:42 gears.

Hey bud a couple questions..... Did your truck come stock with the 3.42 gears or did you ask for them? One more thing.. Since youre from Houstan have you ever heard of "Fastlane Incorporated"? If so.... What have you heard?

Im from Edinburg and got my suspension from "Truck Toyz" in Mcallen. They do monster trucks too and have nothing but good reviews down here. The manager recomended that if i wanted the best tune to visit Fastlane. Im looking into headers too... How much to do you like yours? and would you have bought Dynatech?

Well,

Things didn't go as planned as the dealer didn't trade the vehicle I wanted in time due to someone "paying cash" for it, so I lost it. This was real unfortunate because it was the only one of it's kind in their 500 mile radius. Kind of crappy that $1000 down can't get you a solid promise anymore. So....

Had to go for another option which I have a little heartburn about because it's Black, and Black is good but man is it hot especially down south.

In the works: GMC Sierra SLT CrewCab Black w/Black interior All Terrain Package (stealth and steel gray don't exist in these packages apparently). Anyway, hoping for the best.

Who told you you can't get stealth gray in the all-terrain package? They are either full of shit or I'm special because I have a stealth gray metallic gmc sierra all-terrain with the 6.2 liter z71 package and nht package but have the 3.42 gearing which will be 4.10s soon. I have the SLE because I didn't want leather otherwise only other option I'm missing is the sunroof.

Hey there, it came with 3:42's stock and I haven't heard of fastlane, but I have heard of LMR and Truck Toyz. I love the headers, well worth the money. The fit and finish is perfect. There is no need to cut or weld anything. Took like 2 hrs with another friend to put them on. Either ARH (my choice) or Kooks would be the best imo.

GM Truck 2007-2009 1-3/4" Primaries With 3" Merge Collectors, 3" Connection Pipes (With Cats) part# GMT0734W/C

One more note: The headers have reduced the engine bay temps compared to stock manifolds.

haha ok gotcha. Thanks. When I bought mine I had been hunting in 3 different states for a gmc that was crew cab, 4x4 and had the 6.2 of course I preferred the stealth gray but rather have the 6.2 so it would have been a compromise. Luckily I happened to find the only one in the 3 states here in cali and had everything I wanted and more.

Good luck though keep us updated on what you are going to get. Any plans on mods?

Right now I am trying to get the truck, but down the road I'd like to definately do lift and tires. I've got two that I'm tracking right now and hopefully can zero in on the kill tomorrow. I can't tell you how frustrating it's been having only a couple hours in the morning to work on getting the truck (15 hours difference).

Option 1:

Silverdo CrewCab 4x4 White 6.2L LT / Z71 Appearance & Suspension pkg, interior and convenience package (looks nice, white is last desperate color though)

Option 2:

Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 Blue Granite 6.2L LTZ / Max tow package, loaded (like the idea of 4 wheel disc breaks, 9.5 Rear, and 3:73's vs one above and LTZ basically looks like appearance package)

Difference is about $6k OTD price.. so, suck it up with the white or just go all out and get the beast in blue/green? That's where I'm at, working the numbers now but unfortunately both dealers are closed and I again....... have to wait.

as far as the las one, just couldn't do the black, not down south so I scrambled for another color. It's by far the best looking, but only after you've cleaned it. I'm not bi-polar, it's just finding the right 6.2L to fit long term needs. I love the blue granite, but the exact build is available in the imperial blue as well and that one is kinda sexy too. It's at the same dealer and has same optons so the numbers will be the same once I determine what I'll be most happy with. The white one is 230 miles from where I'm flying in to and the other ones are 19 so that is a factor as well. Anyway, thoughts?

my gut feeling was to buy the LTZ over the LT....but I talked myself into the LT. don't make the same mistake....

Option #2 hands down. The extra gearing will help you later when you lift it and run taller tires

Put deposit down on Option #2 this morning.

The only option I was trying to get removed was the Nav system but apparently they can't do it so whatever ($2200 waste imo). I love the pics he sent but man, for the price you pay and the low stock look it's kind of shocking. These things should come standard with a lift. I probably won't wait too long before I level it because I can't stand the ramped look but we'll see. Excited, but need to work on the details and then bench thinking about it so I can focus on packing out and moving. Thansk for the help and can't wait to drive it.

You'll love the DVD/Nav.. I would have regretted not buying that option. And a leveling kit costs about 80 bucks on eBay... Any backyard mechanic can install it for you too.. I lifted my truck and still have mine...

Instantly boosts the look. Dont like the ramped look either.

I'd send em over if I could. Have no use for them anymore..
