Hello all

I just signed up to the forums and have been reading away, thought I post and say hello. I just bought a 2009 Sierra 1500 Crew w/ 41k Miles. I traded in a dying grand am for it and I couldn't be happier.

I have wanted a truck again for ever. I had an 04 Avalanche however "she" had to have a jeep..(in retrospect should have just traded her and kept the truck ) anyway - shes gone and I wanted to get a truck again.

I've had some history with GM trucks, a slew of beater s10's, an 88 heavy 1/2 8' box Chevy, K5 also a couple jeeps ect - but nothing feels like a truck..

I can turn a wrench ( though I'm an amateur at best.) and love tinkering, I cant help it. I already looked into the DIC, wires there - so its going to happen. I had the dealer print a build sheet last night and it turns out even though its a "plain Jane" work truck - its not to bad.

turns out to be a Work Truck Package (1SA) with Flex 6speed (LC9) Towing package (Z82) and the manual camper mirrors (6P3) Radio has XM, CD ( UQ3? ).

Kids love it, I was ordered to buy it during the test drive (well second one - first was solo) as they have much more room then the back of the ol' Grand Am. Box is a tad short but I can live with it.

So - as I mentioned earlier I'm going though the site - looking up mods - firs will be the DIC then the steering wheel radio controls, overhead / floor console ect ect though the 4wd stick being on the floor kind of put a damper on the floor console.

welcome and congrats on the truck! You'll enjoy it, I love my 07. Keep us up to date on your projects with it.

You should be happy about the shifter, lots of people on here would give their left arm for a transfer case shift lever Oh and, welcome to the site! Post up some pics of it!

Oh I'm happy with it, do the electronic t-case shifters suck that bad? The one on my 04 Ave worked fine, though I only had it for a few years
