I think the belt size is different. Alternator size is one of the questions they ask when getting a new belt. Don't know if the brackets will work.

i know its a different belt size. im concerned with the bracket and plug

Well you didn't say that you knew about the belt now did ya? Wherever you are getting the alt from just compare the plug and mounting holes then.

it will be autozone. freshening things up.... and i wanted the higher output. my stereo takes a good draw.

More juice is always better! They must love you at the carwash by the looks of that photo!

That was Monday. It rained and I had to go to the dump. It was all muddy there.

Looks like you went 4 wheeling in a swamp. That's a pretty nasty dump!

i swapped mine out and it was the exact same size. it was a direct swap.

+1, Just make sure you get the right pin count. One is 3 pin and the other i believe has 4. But its a direct fit. What kind of system are you running? If your pushing alot current you might be better off looking into a HO Alt.

yep, I did this same swap on my 2003 truck when I put electric fans. Direct swap except for the belt. If they have trouble identifying the alternator or belt (most auto part store people would be lost without their computer), just tell them it's for a same year Cadillac Escalade with a 6.0L or a Denali.

Parts places usually ask alt. size. That determines belt size. Not a big deal. Also would be pretty hard to remember all those parts in their head now wouldn't it? ;-)
