Driver's door panel making noise

Hey All,

I've got an extremely annoying "plastic sounding" ticking noise coming from somewhere on the drivers door of my 09. It's the worst when the interior is cold but it never goes away. Just the normal bumps and irregularities of the road make it go crazy "tick-click-tick-click". I've tried to press, lean, hold different areas of the door while driving but it does not seem to do much, only pressing on the entire door panel with a LOT of force with my left arm seems to make it stop. I guess I might have to end up taking off the door panel, and probably not find anything wrong, put it back on and hope it goes away or I don't cause more noises LOL. Any thoughts, hints, or similiar noises you have solved before taking off the panel.

Thanks

I have the same problem, but I noticed that some of the plastic gator teeth push pins (whatever you call them) have lost their bite and think that is what is causing mine, I also have had to have some plastic boulster behind the guages replaced, and have placed all sorts of pieces of blue shop towels in cracks and crevices to keep things from making noises. I hate interior noises!

Then I suggest trying a different brand next time.

Are you sure it's the panel and NOT the door itself rattlin'? Some guys have had to have the doors realigned due to rattlin'. My brother's 2010 made similar noise and the realignment fixed it, now it's quiet...Something was wrong from the factory that allowed the door latch actually rattle, guess it was the way they hung the door. His only stopped if someone would press hard on the inside panel because it took that much force to move the entire door........something to think about.

I had a rattle in my door and was able to fix it with a bit of duct tape. I noticed there was an area where the plastic backside of the door panel was vibrating against the door where there wasn't a liner. I put a couple of strips of duct tape in that area and the rattle was mostly gone. The next thing I did was put a bit of tape on each clip so it wouldn't rattle in the panel. That seems to have fixed all of the I was hearing. The next time I have the door panel off I plan to use silicon to fill in the gap where the clips sit in the panel instead of the tape.
