My winshield on my 2005 Tahoe looks pitted or sandblasted when driving in direct strong sun.I guess from years of highway driving don't really know someone mentioned wax or jewelers rouge to clear it up or do you just have to replace it???

I'd say just replace it, never heard of being able to remove the pitting by waxing or using the jewerlers rouge.

Besides sounds like to much work anyway.

Yep, my 06 is the same way, looks like a blast of small rocks smacked the front windshield, good thing insurance will fully pay for a new one here in sc.

Use "Bar Keepers Friend" with a non abrasive pad, and use ciruclar motions accross the windshield, this may help.

No need to rub snake oil - Replace it, please :D

Just change it.

I paid $160.00 for a new one on my 175,000 mile 2002. Call a local PPG distributer for a good installer. They can tell who is cheap or good, or both. Much better vision, especially in the rain at night.

Having used a glass restoration kit on a 69 Ponitac windshield, you can improve the windshield. You can't remove any imperfection that you can catch with your fingernail. However, unless you have a buffer and a lot of time, best just get a new windshield. You cannot do anything by hand.
