Need help to fix Curb Rash :(

I went to get coffee today but the drive through was tight and i scuffed my new 18 aluminum z71 wheels. Pic below, anyone know how to fix this? Or a place that fixes this issue. Will i have issues with pressure or is this just cosmetic. It still drives me nuts as I try to keep my vehicle nice and new and sadly the truck has not even hit 1 year old.

Hard to see how deep the scratches are by the picture but I don't see any way of fixing that except for grinding and re polishing that area of the wheel. Would want to have the balance checked after that also.

Ouch. I think it's shallow enough you might be able to lightly sand and try to polish it up a little.

Also, how about wider tires?

LOL Wider tires? These are 265/65/ R18. I found a place that will fix it for 150.00 they do amazing work but this is a dirty curb rash.

Your rubber should stick out farther then your rims ..... weird how that has happen .

It doesn't matter how wider the rubber is compared to the rim, if you rub a curb hard enough the tire will move and the rim gets scratched.

I wouldn't spend the money to have it repaired. If it really bothers you, and it would bother me, I'd just search ebay for 1 new take off.

he said he was in drive thrue . He probely was going really slow . like 5km little more or a litttle less . should not push in the tire that much in drive threw . I could see the problem with the back tire taking a corner to sharp but in drive thrue at like a mc donalds or somthing . that should not happen in my opinion . I have hit the curbs pretty hard before and nothing on my truck . Maybe i was lucky ?

I turned in all the way and popped the curb. I should of kept the turn radius but as i was coming off the curb i rolled my steering wheel back to center and weight shifted and it slid off the curb and scratched it to hell. This was a very narrow drive through opening. I have this OCD and need things to be perfect or it bothers me for ever. South Co what is 1 new take off?

ahhh i see that sucks . I have never done that the way you described. you think they could just weld it a bit and then shave/polish it to new for like 50 bucks at a fab shop .

Take off as in a new rim that a dealer has taken off to install different rims for someone, or etc. Might end up being cheaper to get on eBay like that and just buy one.

I don't know much about welding alloys.

Sorry bro, you don't know what your talking about. Doesn't matter how slow you are going if you cut it hard enought the wheel will get scratched.

I guess i dont and dont really feel like proving it on vid cam lol just in case I am wrong. The front wheels I cant see it happening but the back yes i can .and yes there is alot of things that i say i dont know what i am talking about
