Something Else Wrong, Please Help!

There is a horrible noise coming from my truck, it sounds like scratching on a plate. I thought it had something to do with the brakes, but after looking at them and finding nothing, I fear that it is much worse. I have a sound byte of the noise, if someone who knows a lot about chevy trucks would please please send me a message and maybe an email so i can send you this clip to listen to I would really appreciate it.

if its coming from the wheels and you thought it was brakes, it could very well be a hub... noth mine went, and many others have same problem. Have someone take a video of it ..

 

Jack up the front tire and push it in back and fourth see if u hear a popping noise.

Its not the hub, I have checked. It also does not have a roaring sound.

 

I think the G80 is gone, I hope im wrong

Where exactly is this noise you hear coming from? Does it do it all the time or only in certain situations?

It is starting to do it all the time. We just got snow, and the G80 locked once, but then didnt after that. Im not sure exactly where it is coming from but it does seem to come from the rear end.

You said that you check the brakes. Did you check the backing plates to see if they were rubbing?
