2008 GMC Sierra Electrical (parking lights)

I installed a set of the RECON "Big Rig Ice Led Running Lights" on the side of my truck over the weekend. I splced into the Running lights and Blinkers hot side using a tester. All work perfectly until i connect the connector for the headlight assembly. then only the blinkers work. The parking lights on the headlight assembly still work just not on the after market lights. when i disconnect the connector again, everything on the after market lights work. Ive heard of installing a resister if changing the parking lights to LED, but not adding LED side lights. any help would be greatly appreciated as i spent 4 hours banging my head against the wall and thats not working.
