Do your research and stay away from Airtex pumps..If you look around sometimes you can find a Delphi pump a little cheaper than the Airtex junk..RockAuto is a great place to do business with and you can do a search for coupon codes online to use to save extra money..Take it for what its worth...Buy an Airtex and more than likely you will be doing the job again soon...Also lifting the bed off is the way to go!

I have a 2001 Tahoe with a fuel gauge problem. Now and then the gauge will read Empty and "Low Fuel" light will come on. I have read that it

is most likely a loose ground wire. Does anyone know if it occurs at the tank or dashboard? If it is at the tank, I asume that I have to drop the

tank to check for a loose connection. Is there a better way to do this by yourself?

I'm betting its the sending unit in the fuel tank. Needs to be replaced. Replace the whole thing. (sending unit)
