Time for a Tune-Up, need answers?

Well, my truck has about 137K on it. But, I need to do a Coolant Flush, Trans Fluid Change, new spark plugs and wires. Also need new rotors, already have the pads. Gonna bleed out the brakes and put some new PS fluid also. (Feels like its lost a touch of power).

But, my question is since, I got a BB tune, would it be safe to get new plugs and wires? Gonna go with the ACDelco Irdium Plugs,

I'm pretty sure the truck has never had a transmisson fluid flush before. Should I change the fluid and the filter or just the fluid? Would that hurt my Tune, if some of you guys knew since you had a BB Tune.

Which Power Steering fluid do guys recommend? Sythetic, what kind if so?

Plus, I was gonna do the SeaFoam treament to the engine, do all that before or after?

Thanks.

Stay with AC-Delco plugs and wires. Tune effects this none.

I'd do a trans fluid flush and then replace the filter. Again, no effect on this due to the tune.

I'd use just regular 'ol power steering fluid.

Not familiar with "The Seafoam Treatment" so no opinion there, sorry.

Seafoam before plug swap

Only stick with factory plugs and wires

Change fluid & filter in tranny

If I were you, I would go ahead and change the front & rear differential fluids as well.

If it were me, I would go with amsoil for every fluid used. Even for brake and PS fluids, but thats just my preference.

None of the above will mess with the tune

Can you tell a difference with AMS?

Not a huge difference. But it's all top quality. It all lasts longer because of that as well. I've been using amsoil in my vehicles for the past 5 years.

It's just a thought if you're going to be keeping it for a while longer.

Went to get an estimate for the trans flush change at my local GM dealership.....like $100 for that.....then $150 to drop the pan & to change the filter. Thats a lot extra......So would it be safe to just do the flush then instead of the filter too?

Or, have the flush performed and then you change the filter. $150 to change that filter is a rip off, imo but that's just me. Most places have two transmission services offered. One without a filter change (just a flush) and one with a filter chanage. I personally flush mine ever 50k and then change the filter after it is flushed the next 50k. My '98 had 198k on the original trans when I pulled it down for a convertor noise only when really cold. The inside of the transmission looked like brand new. I used the same routine as previously described on that truck and that trans got the crap kicked out of it, on a regular basis.

I would change the filter

Can't afford it right now, getting my coolant flushed too.

That right there together is $190, if the filter too its like $400.

Do you not feel comfortable doing it yourself?

'07 should have a 4L65E trans. The filter kit and 6 quarts of Dexron VI can't run much over $50ish. If you can change your oil you can change your automatic transmission filter. A bit messier but easily done, nonetheless.

The coolant I can, but I'm afraid I would screw something up if I did the Transmisson fluid & filter.

I looked at the fluid from the dipstick & it doesn't look too dirty, so what all do I need if I just wanna flush it myself or if I do it myself, change the filter too? Has anyone done this, step by step instructions?
