So I have been viewing all available pictures from various sites. Mostly Thailand.

 

Horror of horrors. That is my conclusion. But for only one thing.

 

NO Column Shift !

 

Say it ain't so. No column shift? Bucket seats and mandatory console between seats? No legal seating 3 across front anymore?

 

There has got to be someone here with inside top secret information about this new truck. Is this true? No column shift? No split bench seating?

 

I'm worried.

Well, yes, but that's another story. It is the flexiblility to carry three. I never have. But It's nice to know that I can.

 

My only other option for a small regular cab is a Toyota. I have opportunity for top level discount on any new Toyota. But I notice that Toyota does not offer a column shift on the base model either. Floor shifter (automatic).

 

Yes, there is always the option of a full size. I'm thinking 4 cylinder now though.

I have had three 130 to 150 pounds peoples in my little truck for about a 6 hour drive. Its not comfortable at all but it was doable

well I guess mine is not a compact pick up . Most likely wider than a ranger or colorado or toyota.

I like the bucket seats and center console. I've had it in all three of my trucks.

My next truck will be a extra cab not a crew cab with bucket seats . The only way I would not want bucket seats if I have a reg cab truck like I do now were the 3rd seat does come in handy.

If GM goes this way. No 3 in front. No column shifter. And beyond that. There are fleet sales. Most or all of them have column shifter and room/space for 3 in front. If needed.

never seen the smaller trucks in fleet sales , always the full size trucks . The small ones cant handle a big enough payload like a full box of gravel .

Usually around here, most of the small companies have the S-10 sized trucks...Probably because they use full size vans for everything else? You'd be suprised at how many fleets you see with the smaller trucks.

we did it in December of 2010, For THREE DAYS, at 8-10 Hours A DAY in a FULL SIZE. NOT FUN.

Did 3-across in highschool now and then when I'd drive a friend and his sister to school with me on days when the bus didn't run because of weather. Sister always rode middle so it wasn't so bad.

 

 

Did it a few times with the '03 Silvy. Mostly in the summer on vacation with some friends kids. So they were small and didn't take up too much space.

used to do 3 across in my s10 and my sierra. in my sierra it came in handy when id get a call from friends saying they needed a ride home because they were drunk. i could take 5 people. my s10 in high school... me at 160 lbs my friend jason at 140 lbs and my friend martin at like 250
