What is the first year that the Silverado 1500 was/is avail. in a EXTENDED CAB LONG BED 8' bed length and in 4 wheel drive. I was looking at 2012's today and saw one. Didn't know that they made

them in this configuration . I was told in 2010 that you couldn't get a 1500 1/2 ton in extended cab, not

crew cab , with a 8' bed .

So what really is the first year that the current gen. 2008> was avail in 1500 ( 1/2 TON ) , LONG BED ( 8' ) , Extended Cab avail. Thanks for any help .

As far as I know ex. cab/long bed has always been available. They're just extremely uncommon on 1500-series trucks.

they did not make a GMT400 ECLB 1500. they started the ECLB 1500's in 1999. they made ECLB 1500's every year since 99. idk about 2012 though.

from the i dont see to many GMT900 ECLB 1500's but i have seen them. the 800's a little more common

I sold my ECLB 4WD 1998 1500 Silverado when I bought the current 2011 one (Sierra) to replace it. They are not too common, I had to have both brought in from "farm" country where the 8' beds are common. Around here the dealers keep nothing but short beds which I have no use for,

they definitely did, i used to own a '96. my current truck is also. imo theyre the best one. its not hugely long like a crew cab long bed, and u get a back seat with a full size bed. here's a picture:

My Dad owns a 1992 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab Long Bed with I belive 3.08 gears and the 5.7l motor, and the oversize gas tank. Its great for traveling to Elk camp in Colorado, and nearly impossible to lose on an icy winter road with a plow on the front.
