Best Tonneau Cover

I'm looking at getting my first tonneau cover and really don't have any experience with them whatsoever. I am looking for something that provides easy access, looks good, will last and will fully secure my truck bed when I lock my tailgate.

I am looking at the Bakflip G2 which retails at about $850 in Canada.

Anybody have experience with this cover or any others that may be better bang for my buck?

Thanks

I bought the BakFlip F1 and it was a great decision. The wife and I are older and not too strong. We have used the BakFlip in every way it was intended. Partially flipped up (one or two panels) or the whole thing fastened against the rear window and the entire truck bed being used. There was no way we could take off a fiberglass one if we needed the whole bed.

So-you get a cover that is secure, 99.5% waterproof and it is light.

I bought the F1 because I will be moving to where it snows and wanted something more hail/snow resistant.

They are expensive but IMHO one of the best you can buy.

I absolutely love my Line-X Cover, Looks fantastic, never leaks, tough and locks at front and back. Plus, you can remove it in a couple of minutes.

Diamondback makes the the cover and it's terriffic. If I'd have known how damned good it was, I'd probably have spent the extra 1K or so and bought the top-of-the-line Diamondback plus Line-X.

Anyway, hell of a tonneau and simply blows everything else off the market.

Blessings,

Steve

I had the undercover tonneau cover on my last truck and am looking at what to get for the new truck. I really liked the undercover, but am considering the BakFlip F1 or G2, or another undercover.

I bought a used truck 3 years ago that had a brand nw Bakflip on it (a major reason I bought that particular truck)....after about 3 months< I took it off and sold it....I found it to be a cumbersome pain in the butt. Always having to flip panels, some did not seal properly, leaked everywhere....ugh.

I previously had a Rm truck that had a hard tonneau cover....hated that more than the Bakflip. Always had to open it to get the tail gate open....had to ride with it open any time I loaded anything taller than the bed, and it flopped on rough roads....another pain in the butt

I have owned sever Truk Tex roll up tonneau covers and they are easy to operate, easy to install, and last as long as I ever owned the truck. Not very secure, as you could rip them open with a knife....but, they cover the cargo, and look good and work well.....just my opinion;

I just put one on my new-to-me 09 Silverado, and never even considered anything else...cheap, too...$200 on ebay shipped.

I got a soft tri-fold Lund, got a bug deflector free with it a while ago. It works well, but the next cover I buy will be a hard top. The soft top's fabric blows in the wind; at certain times of the day, the light will hit the glossy, blowing tonneau fabric and flicker back into the cab. Also the ribbed appearance annoys me. Hard tri-folds are superior IMO. I'd say get one with good clamps since you will probably be using those clamps often.

+1. I have had my Line-X-Cover for 2 1/2 years. No leaks, secure and strong enough for my 220 pounds to stand on.
